I have mixed emotions. Most everyone knows that I don't care for Tommy Bowden as a person and never have. As for coaching, he doesn't seem to have the ability to motivate a team when they need it, and as has been shown over and over again,he chokes. However, there aren't a lot of coaches out there I want right now. Clemson has a whole lot of talent returning next year and will be ok either way.

I'm glad he's staying. Besides Wake and NC State, there's not any ACC teams I like besides Clemson. Duke is hardly worth mentioning, even if I wanted to watch them, they never show any of their football games except Duke/UNC. Anyway, yeah, I don't know who they woulda got to replace him. They probably saved money by keeping him.

i think his record speaks for itself. no, he hasn't won a ton of conference titles (he has won one with Tulane), but he has finished under 3rd place 3 times out of 9 years at Clemson. You might say that he chokes, but his record is 87-44....thats pretty damn good. I think the most remarkable stat is that he's never had a losing season. The guy is consistent. I like Bowden, and I'm really glad he's staying at Clemson.

What is remarkable is how he takes that much talent each year and makes them mediocre. I can't believe Klempsun really wants to keep this guy around. They have the talent year in and year out to be a powerhouse and they always are up and down. When a team constantly plays that erratic, with moments of brilliance and moments of indifference that falls back on coaching. Hell, without nepotism wedon't even know who Bowden is anyway. Thanks Daddy!!!!!

I'd be curious to know how much of that money he's going to donate to the West Endzone project.

4 million dollar buyout clause. Which means when he has another bad year next year and all the fans are screaming to dump him again... Klempsun can't afford to.
