Please, God, tell me "NO!!" :bash:

    From Charlotte.com:

    Short yardage

    • Carolina general manager Marty Hurney said linebacker Dan Morgan'srecovery from recent season-ending surgery on his Achilles tendon is progressing smoothly.

He's not bad depth, and still a good mentor to Beason.

But what if Beason catches the vagina from him?

It seems to me that it doesn't mean anything other than what it says...that Morgan is recovering.

Hell, he's worth keeping IMO. He can either play WLB or he can be a back up to Beason. Either way, he won't cost much, since his latest contract requires him to play to get paid.

The thing is, if we cut him loose we'll be forced to do something else with his roster spot.

He'd be great to have, IF he could stay unbroken for more than a few quarters (at most). Fool me once, okay, fool me five times I'm asking for it. If we let him go and he catches on somewhere else, and plays the whole year, and plays great I swear I will still not bitch about cutting him :)

I don't believe that's accurate. His listed base salary for next year is $2.85 million. I think the per game incentives were just on top of that amount, plus whatever bonus money is remaining.

Yeah, wasn't it just on the roster bonus he was supposed to get in the Spring.

If Morgan had suffered another head injury, I'd say he was done, but an achilles? I'm fine with him being here next season. he's basically 2 years removed (and healing) from all the head trauma. He won't get a salary bump, so his incentive laden deal would be fine for Carolina to keep on, IMO.
