This USC team is not as good as the ones in recent years, and they've shown that throughout the season, so I'm not sure why you keep pretending otherwise. They're still better than Illinois, but it should be a close game and they could certainly lose if they don't play their best.

Hawaii will not finish undefeated, Georgia might be the best team in the nation...but they won't get a chance to prove it. If I were Richt, I'd turn down the trophy in protest of a playoff system.:operator:

Same goes for Georgia, OSU, LSU, Kansas, Va Tech, Hawaii...A PLAYOFF WOULD PROVE IT!

How can it be The National Championship when there is no Semi-Final game?:39:

Anytime you want to stop babbling and start arguing the merits of a playoff system, feel free, but I can't recall the last time you found the courage to actually argue a point.

If I want to argue a point, I'll make my argument with someone I give a fuck what they have to say. The NCAA championship has always been a joke and it will be nothing more than a trophy until there is a quarter-final and a semi-final preceeding it.

The merits are simple, any other sport at any other level has a playoff system in place.

Nice copout, but you don't make an argument for anyone, not just me. You're just lazy, and you don't like putting yourself out there because you're not at all confident in your own judgment.
And I've already shown how those other sports have produced absurd results. The "best team" rarely wins it all in major league baseball or college basketball, and only about half the time in the NFL.

The only teams they "beat the shit out of" were Idaho, Washington State, and Notre Dame. USC didn't lose to Stanford by accident or because of injuries, and they were close to full strength when they nearly lost to a Washington team that finished dead last in the Pac-10. USC is living on reputation, and just because someone in the media tells you that they're awesome isn't reason enough to believe it. Watch them for yourself, and if you still believe that they're the best team in college football, that's pretty compelling evidence that you just don't have good judgment.

It has nothing to do with the BCS, genius. It's about the bowls themselves and it has always been that way.
