    answers to your question..............

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State’s 2007 football season ended with a thud Saturday afternoon, as Maryland became bowl-eligible with a 37-0 victory at Carter-Finley Stadium.

The loss ended the Wolfpack’s streak of 150 consecutive games without a shutout, dating back to Sept. 25, 1995, when Baylor beat the Wolfpack 14-0 at Carter-Finley. It was the ACC’s longest active streak and the fourth-longest streak in ACC history.

“I am trying to hold in my tears right now,” said defensive end Martrel Brown. “There is no way to explain how I feel. In my five years here, I have never looked up on the scoreboard and seen a zero there.”

In fact, the Wolfpack had not been shut out at home by an ACC opponent since 1962.

so, State has never been beaten 37-0 before? That's the worst beat down for them?

Guess it was what we expected. Both UNC and State showed good signs, and shitty signs of an improving program for the first year under new coaches.

I believe that Butch Davis faces a little bit higher expectations that tom obrien. How the hell did it take overtime for the heels to beat duke? Good Job Davis, you really earned that contract extension. Giving him that extension was RETARDED. He hasn't proven anything yet.

    here's more

according to a news report, it was the worst home loss since 1953 when WVa beat State 61-0.
also worst ACC shutout since a 45-0 beating by Va. in 1984 and first ACC home shutout since Clemson did it 7-0 in 1962.

I was at the game, and State was not competitive. Simply can't explain it.
