Cut Marty and hire someone who can recognize, draft and sign football players.

What to about Peppers is the biggest question facing this team. If we over pay him and kill our salary cap then we are going to be screwed for years. If we let him walk and he reverts to form somewhere else we will look like idiots and alienate a lot of fans.

Peppers is under contract for next year, then we have a franchise tag to protect ourselves. We don't have to do anything just yet.

We shouldn't overreact to one down year.

I would not lock him up long term right now unless he wants to be paid based on this year's performance. I am glad we have one more year on his rookie deal. That is very valuable in the decision making process.

We will be needing some cap room to try and sign players, so no one is totally safe. Peppers is fairly safe, and actually if we could work something out with him long term it would save us money in the near future.

Jenkins is probably a cut. Morgan certainly. Lucas maybe, depending on how much we save. He's played well this year IMO but we may be looking for money.

If we're going to take cap hits, I'd rather try and trade some of these guys than get nothing by cutting them. Stockpile a few midround picks and use them to move up should some one fall into the 2nd and 3rd rounds we need. Unfortunately we're going to be stuck with Kemoeatu for another year. Cutting him would be about a 4 million dollar cap hit.
