I wish Roy would recruit someone like Curry over someone like Ellington. NBA potential is largely irrelevant to college performance, and it seems like everyone has forgotten about what players like Donald Williams once meant to the program. I don't care if a guy is 4'3" if he has decent quickness and consistency on his jump shot.

Also, what's the deal with them pronouncing Stephen like Stefan instead of Steven? Good lord.

Anyone can say that it was a mistake in hindsight, but I want to see that he actually understands the need for that kind of shooter and gets one. I wanted to see it in this past recruiting class and I did not. I don't see it for next year's either.
No, either he or his family have been pronouncing it incorrectly his whole life. "Stephen" is not pronounced "Stef-an," it's pronounced like "Steven." It's just like Antawn Jamison being called as if it was spelled "Antwan."

I see what you are saying, but black folks have been known to pronounce names differently on purpose...Antawn was a case of his birth certificate being spelled wrong

for what its worth wiki says otherwise,

Stephen Curry is the starting shooting guard for the Wildcats of Davidson College. Stephen (pronounced Stef-en), who previously attended Charlotte Christian School, is the son of former NBA sharpshooter Dell Curry.[1]

Wiki is just confirming that it's how he and his family pronounce it, but it's still wrong and fairly ridiculous. I have known people named Stefan, so that name is fine, but if you're going to pronounce it that way then it should be spelled that way. [/rant]
