UNC - Davidson

if Davidson could shoot they would be winning this game by 15.

 

of course the same could be said for UNC

 

Davidson is good

 

Davidson is pretty good, but they aren't even playing good and even playing their best they should never be in the same ballpark with UNC. UNC is the most talented team in the country and Davidson is a very good team (for a mid-major). Outside of Stephen Curry on offense they pretty much suck.

 

too bad the dominant feature in this game was the officiating. i absolutely cannot stand to see a great match-up spoiled by ticky-tack fouls every time down the floor. they put the clamps on any flow and neither team seemed to be able to sustain a rythem. nobody came to see the refs.......assholes.

 

Davidson is pretty good unc is very lucky to come out with a win

 

are screens/moving screens a point of emphasis this season? I've never seen so many off the ball offensive fouls called in one game.

I know it's only the first game. I know Davidson is a pretty good, experienced team with a very good coach. I know UNC didn't play their best and will get better. But Davidson played like crap and they still took UNC to the wire

I've already seen enough to know that UNC will not make it to the final four this year. I would say "IF" they can hit from outside they will but there will be no IF. The Heels just don't have any reliable three point game. Sure Ellington has a pretty shot, and I'm sure there will be games this year where Frasor, Green, Ginyard make 7-8 in a half.

But without any consistent three point game they will not make it all the way. Teams will sit back in a zone, beat the crap out of Hansbrough, cut off the driving lanes for Lawson and dare UNC to make shots.

They may win the ACC, will probably win 25 games but no outside shooting will do them in.

 

UNC

UNC didn't play very well at all. If you notice late in the 1st half and late in the 2nd half UNC pick it up on defense and shut them down. I notice 2 different times tonight on fouls on UNC they (ref) let Curry go to the foul line and he wasn't even near the play.

But give Davidson alot of credit, they are a real good team. They will win there conference and make the big dance this year.

 

I thought UNC would bury them after they were up by 7 at the half. They usually keep it close and then burn the other team in the second half. UNC looked really really sloppy. Deon Thompson did not have a good game. It seems like UNC REALLY slowed the offense down for some reason
