People complain because they aren't successful at it not because it is the plan.

They could win if they could run well with either and he has had years to work on it.

Fox got dealt a bad hand, granted....but the organization as a whole hasn't made adjustments or prepped for any of this. We made almost 0 off-season moves when we weren't really that good in some positions last year. Fox and co. stood pat.....it backfired. We have been so enamored of Jake that we missed a lot of opportunity to get a QB for the future. Where does this put us in 3 years?? Hindsight is 20/20...but there needs to be some foresight planning for the future.

Who really believed Foster could carry this team? We didn't even sniff available backs. He's not horrible, but...we are playing ball-control. He is not a ball-control back.

Agree here. This was pretty surprising. We all thought Carr was going to be worlds better than Weinke. And in fairness - they went after Carr aggressively.

Such as who? This isn't a love letter for Delhomme. I'm serious - who?

This contradicts some of your previous comments. It's kind of an indictment of the staff if neither of the 3 phases of the game are excelling.

    And they aren't.

And I'm not knocking Delhomme.....in retrospect, Brady Quinn might have been a nice draft pick. Someone who can spend a few years behind a seasoned vet and take the helm when his time comes or he's thrust into it. Fox's philosophy is that it's risky to draft a QB is all well and good, but if a potential franchise player is available, sometimes you gotta take a shot. Especially when you have a pressing need.

Again, hindsight is 20/20, so it's easy for me to call out mistakes in the past....but I just think the Panthers made themselves one-dimensional. Play D, control the ball running, look for an occasional big play from your reciever. The only problem there is if ANY part fails, the whole thing fails, and there is no room for adjustment.

    Just an opinion.

I don't know the answer to whether or not Fox needs to be replaced but I do know it is a valid question that I guarantee the Richardson's are asking themselves.

How do you figure? I see it as an indictment of the offense, which is without a legitimate and consistent QB. The defense and ST's seem to be improving, especially the defense...they are certainly playing well enough to win games with a little help from the offense. The return game is getting better as well, although I wouldn't shed a tear if Crossman got fired after this season.

Fox and Hurney were constantly being blasted for not addressing the safety position during the off season, but that has actually become a position of strength on this team. Chris Harris, in particular, was a great signing when you consider that he's still a young and improving player, and that they got him relatively cheap. Where would this team be without the turnovers that he and Deke Cooper have caused? Fox and the front office deserve some credit for what they've done at the position that everybody was most worried about.

Saying the ST is improving is tough. Returns were better (better than worst in the NFL is not much ) but Baker played TERRIBLE.

Defense has been better, but not great. It was better for most of the ATL game, but not outstanding.

I really can't look at the Panthers and say the ST and Defense are playing very well. And I say that as a big fan of John Fox.

    It's troubling.

The defense has looked ok against Atlanta and Tennessee. That's wonderful.

That's like saying you look OK standing between Fred and Delmonico DeSteak
