You don't rank losing for a year straight at home comparible to some of your mentionings. You must not own PSL's.......

I pretty much agree with Meat, I'd only difer in pointing out that this team has just deteriorated over the last three seasons and that's on Fox and Hurney. I want to give Fox a mulligan becuase of losing Jake, but it was his job to ensure we had a back-up plan.

I just don't freakin know how I feel about Fox - Hurney though sucks monkey fecal matter and needs to be told to clean out his office tonight.

On what basis does Hurney suck? I would bet tht Hurney is not in charge of personnell decisions. I'd say that's more Fox.

Hurney may have say on who we hire as scouts, though. But Even then I'd bet that's more fox.

    Am I mistaken?

Maybe so. In some ways, I felt like Henning and Maser were let go because of not only performance, but their hand in personnel. I didn't have anything to back this, but it's no different than Seifert running the staff. Seifert relied on staff, supposedly, and it's no different here. Neither guy should be doing the ultimate deciding on players, especially without another decision-maker to confer.

Hurney was hired to be the GM because he placated the need for a GM. I'm OK with that, in his role, but we need a VP/Personnel.

That's not because we lost this week. I thought this the start of 06 and should've well before then. It's not that Hurney is awful specifically because of someone else having that power. He spefically gives out the cash too easily, and in that end, he should either have some idea of what he's signing or not be the guy deciding value. It's not his fault he doesn't evaluate talent, but that doesn't mean he should stay. He will, though, and he'll be hiring our next head coach if we make a move this year.

Which, coincidentally, might point us more toward Schottenheimer, or possibly Ron Rivera.

If you're right then Fox needs to be the one to go, but if Hurney isn't making those calls what the hell does he do here? he isn't doing contracts that's Rob Rogers doing.

Someone please explain why Fox and Hurney are a "package deal."

3 year malaise. Fox's mindset seemed to change once he went to the Super Bowl, with his OL on drugs.

That Cleveland OC and Norm Chow would be offensive candidates. I'm sure there are some others. There is some offensive productivity going on in the league.

    Chudzinski as HC?
    no.
Up until going to SD to be TEs coach, he was a Butch Davis follower. And he's been in his current spot for 9 games.

Granted, that doesn't make him an awful coach or anything, but he lacks experience.

Chow is always an outside candidate, and interesting if you're starting over with an experienced D staff and going young on O, but I don't see us doing it.

I think I saw a stat that said Fox has won 5 playoff games since 2003 - which is as many or more than anyone in the NFC.

That is probably wrong and I misheard it.
