in today's market, if he gets a dozen wins and has an ERA under 4.00 it'll be a steal.

I was thinknig about this and did some reading on that site you gave me, and while in the regular season, a position player is going to contribute more win shares, isn't that going to be reversed in the post season? And the postseason is really what is important here - as evidenced by the way that the Sox limited various pitchers' work - and even shuut down a couple for periods.

If Schilling gets one Cy Young vote he gets $1 Million extra.

Schilling has a new Cy Young incentive

he needs to be put on the Curt Schilling weight loss prevention program..

I'm guessing the marlins would want something like a package of Buccholz and Lester and maybe Jed Lowrie (I've read where the Fish would move Hanley Ramirez to third if they get rid of Cabrera). I'd rather sign Lowell for three (or, if they have to, four) years and keep those guys, especially considering Lowrie could be taking at short in '09.

ask yourself, too, how Ramirez would perform in a Boston uniform. Big, big difference there.
