Moore wasn't sacked, and was able to get a few passes off without chucking it up like a grade schooler directly after the snap.

    FWIW.

I have never cheered with glee when a panthers qb was injured in a game. Until David Carr. Twice he's left hurt, twice I've cheered.

In NO, I booed when he returned. I will boo him Sunday if he lines up under center. Again, this is the first time I've ever done this in the history of the franchise.

Many media reports, fan commentary, blog, etc. that i read or watch on TV has as much hatred. I've never seen anything like it. Maybe it's irrational, maybe Carr sucks worse than anyone ever, maybe it's a combo.

Other than some teammates, I have not read anything positive about David Carr except here, from Collin.

My displeasure with Carr may ( or may not ) be stubborn and irrational, and so is Collin's defense of him.

You just admitted that you cheered when he was injured. Meanwhile I've gone to great lengths to objectively justify my position with facts and statistics. Just because I am alone in something doesn't mean that I'm being irrational. In fact, it usually just means that I'm a hell of a lot smarter and more observant than the masses. In any case, I don't just say things without backing them up, and if I'm so clearly off base here then it seems like someone should be able to prove that.

And that is the heart of the matter. Collin swears over and over that he's proven me wrong about Carr, yet the results on the field are fucking awful, no matter how you break down the play calling or Carr's stats. He simply cannot run this offense and he cannot produce points. As far as I'm concerned, the proof is in the results, and the results are horrible, everything else is just worthless blabbering on a message board.

BTW, I don't agree at all with cheering Carr's injuries. I don't like him as our QB, but he seems to be a nice guy and a good family man, I respect that regardless of what happens on the football field.

I don't just say that I proved you wrong, I actually did. You made specific claims about how often he threw downfield, how productive he was, and whether or not play-calling was an issue. I proved you definitively wrong about each because I showed that he did throw downfield with frequency against New Orleans, that he was productive, and that our play-calling was suspect. I proved those things, and you've been whining ever since.

Make a compelling argument. Clay is about the only person I've seen who did more than make blanket statements or absurd and undeniably false accusations (monstercat).

It really does help when a quarterback can drop, read, and throw when he's supposed to.

    Facts about David Carr:

4.7 yards per pass attempt as a Panther. Lowest in the NFL among any QB with over 10 passes. This is more than something that isn't what we want to see as fans. This is something that is not acceptable out of an NFL player regardless of who is evaluating him. The other "not bad" players with similar numbers include Alex Smith and Trent Dilfer. Vinny the savior isn't exactly great either, though, at 5.4 YPA. Of course, there's a reason he was sitting on his ass to start the season and it wasn't all his age.

He's thrown more interceptions than touchdowns over his career (3:3 in Carolina). I don't know where this perception that he doesn't help or hurt you comes from, because it doesn't exist. Maybe he doesn't launch a ball 30 yards downfield into triple coverage because he's too much of a pussy to do it, but his retarded throwing motion and other deficiencies still lead to unecessary turnovers. Who really gives a shit if they were "dumb" or not?

He's not the biggest problem on the Panthers. That would be the Special Teams unit. After that, he's right up there with the D-Line and O-Line. Stop whining about the fucking safeties. They're not good but they haven't been overly exploited yet and they're a hell of a lot easier to cover up than the guy who touches the ball every snap.

It's not just Carr's play that is the problem. Carr is not a leader. He is not a quarterback that can throw a team on his back and carry them. Jake Delhomme used to have that ability, but it seems that he has lost that. Carr seems more concerned about his shitty ass mullet that winning football games. I think that maybe the gel is dripping into his eyes and he can't see what color the uniforms are.....
