Again with this crap. Can you point out anyone who cares about your opinion? Anyone who thinks of you as knowledgeable? You're the one who has demonstrated repeatedly that you don't have the slightest clue about anything related to the NFL. You're the one who has thoroughly embarrassed yourself, regardless of what I've said about you. Your own idiotic comments were far more damaging to your credibility than any insults I could use.

Pretending that I'm ignorant about the NFL when everyone knows what I've proven and when so many people want to know what I think, just again shows how emotional and irrational you are. Your every perception is intensely colored by bias, which has become the focal point of this argument. It's the source of your hatred for Carr, and it's obviously the impetus for your laughable comments about me and my level of football knowledge. Get a clue before it's too late.
If you don't mind answering, would you tell me if you're older than a teenager? The longer we have this argument, the more I'm convinced that your brain hasn't physically matured yet.

Who in the hell are all these people who depend on what you think? Let me guess, they're a bunch of FF geeks. You do understand that a large chunk of those people are playing FF because it's the popular thing to do, and that they need the game explained to them because they've never played football in their lives, and never even cared about football before FF came along, right? You may be their hero, but you don't mean shit to me because I've played this game before and have been following the NFL for over 30 years, which is probably longer than most people who post on message boards have been alive. I saw guys like Terry Bradshaw, Joe Theismann, and Roger Staubach play live, so I think I have a pretty damn good idea of what a good QB looks like.

Trust me, if Carr starts playing well, I will be very happy because it means the Panthers have a chance to accomplish something this season. So far, he just looks jumpy and indecisive out there. Even when he makes a good throw, it either happens because he hits his first read, and doesn't have to think about it or even look at anybody else, or it happens after he just ran out of the pocket when he didn't have to, and it's a checkdown throw. His numbers may be similar to Vinny's, but the way he gets the numbers, and what he actually accomplishes as far as keeping drives going and winning the game, are two completely different things.

For instance, the running game works better when Vinny is in there because the defense knows that he is a THREAT to throw the ball anywhere on the field. It doesn't matter so much if he makes alot of long throws in a particular game, as long as he makes enough of them to keep the defense honest. Even if some of them are incomplete, as long as you establish the threat, it usually has the desired effect on the defense. Plus, Vinny knows how to manipulate the safeties with his eyes while he's in the pocket, while Carr usually panics and starts running around before the pocket breaks down. He basically cuts his own options in half by running to one side or the other, and he takes away the ability to manipulate the defense because all they have to do is take away half the field. Honestly, how you can call yourself some sort of football expert, and not see this stuff, amazes me.

I could go into much more detail about the difference, but what's the point? You're just going to throw out your petty little insults regardless. Your little "I'm smarter than everybody else, and therefore can be an asshole without remorse" act is getting old and lame...you don't impress nearly as many people as you think you do.

When someone on TBR wants an answer to a football question, it's rare that they ask anyone besides magnus or myself. Bitch all you want, and you're clearly going to, but none of your whining will change the fact that people realize I know what I'm talking about when it comes to football.
And I thought you sounded like a teenager. Heh. In any case, for someone who has supposedly followed the NFL for 30+ years, it's surprisingly easy to show that you don't know what you're talking about.
Sure. After all, anyone who watches the television for multiple decades automatically becomes a QB expert. That's why you can find them at every nursing home.
Yeah, he does. He looks far from comfortable, which I've said all along. The problem comes in when you embarrass yourself and show yourself to be a clueless ass by crapping on him and saying that he's awful even when he's doing fine. But really, this is probably the source of our disagreement. You are so completely ignorant and hopeless that you judge a quarterback's quality by how he looks, rather than his arm action, accuracy, velocity, or decision-making. If a guy looks confident, that makes him a good quarterback in your book.
No, they aren't. Carr has passed the ball well and with authority aside from his first performance against Tampa Bay. I too wish he'd be more aggressive in getting the ball to Smith, but he's making good reads, delivering the ball accurately with velocity, and avoiding stupid mistakes. That is certainly enough to win at the NFL level. You can't actually argue against that, which is why you've tried to say that Testaverde and even Matt Moore get credit for what the running backs do on the ground.
Yep, there you go again. It's odd that you don't realize what an idiot you look like to everyone else when you claim that Testaverde was responsible for DeAngelo's 75 yard run against Arizona.
Again, I already proved you wrong when you claimed that Carr didn't throw downfield much against New Orleans. I showed that he did so more frequently than Testaverde did against Arizona, and I don't recall much of a difference between them against Indianapolis. You keep babbling about points you already lost.
Because I'm not an idiot, and only an idiot sees things the way that you do. The unfortunate truth is that you're apparently so senile that you don't even realize what a laughingstock you are when you make these claims.
There probably wouldn't be a point, because I've proven you wrong about this at every turn with facts, examples, and statistics and yet it never even causes you to pause. You're like a broken record that is completely unresponsive to reality. You're going to keep repeating the same nonsense no matter how many times I show that you're wrong.
I have no idea if I'm smarter than everybody else. What I do know is that I am smart, that I've proven I know what I'm talking about when it comes to football, and that you've proven you don't.

Wow Collin... I guess you're football knowledge is pretty important to the 6-10 people that post on this board regularly. Woo hoo!...you're mother must be very proud! I didn't realize you had such a wide audience, you big stud you! :laugh4:

Seriously, I don't give a shit if 1,000,000 people are hanging on your every word...you're dead wrong if you think Carr has played as well as Vinny.

My God, think about what we're arguing about in the first place. Just the fact that it is even close enough to be debatable, that Carr has played as well as Vinny Testaverde, says a lot about David Carr in the first place, and none of it's good.

Several hundred thousand at last check (apparently including someone at ESPN), plus whatever amount reads the Panthers forum of TBR. If you want to insult me, there are all types of things where I'm fair game, but pretending that I don't have football knowledge just makes you look like an idiot.
Because you say so, right? Nevermind the fact that I've actually proven you wrong on just about everything you've said about him.
Actually it says more about Testaverde being a hell of a lot better than I expected. He looked pretty solid out there, to my surprise. Meanwhile Carr has displayed the weaknesses that I predicted, but he's been fine. He's been completing passes and avoiding dumb mistakes. I don't know if the "former #1 overall pick" thing threw you or what, but if you had huge expectations, that was your fault. He's been about average or a little below, which is not bad considering that I felt like he had some things to work on and would be better off sitting behind Jake all season. None of that makes his performance bad, however.

You know, you can post that comment 1,000 more times, but it won't make it come true.

I'll be pulling for Carr tomorrow, and if he has a good game, I will give him all the credit in the world. Until he does though, I stand by everything I've said about him.

I don't have a dog in this fight. I just think it's funny how Houston was praised for dumping Carr and adding Schaub, especially after they beat us, and now we're in 1st place and they're in last place.

It's concerning that he didn't even look. By the game log he was only targeted by Carr once, where even though vinny completed just two passes, he targeted Smith 6 times (including one penalty play). Three of those were deep.
