From a salary dump throw in on the Beckett trade to Series MVP. Nicely done. Not sure if I want to believe the rumors he may be heading to my Phillies in the off season but a great story

He's the only quality third baseman available besides A-Rod and coming off his best season, so someone is going to pay him a shitload more money than he's actually worth. Given that the Yanks are righteously pissed at Rodriguez, it will probably be them.

    Mike Lowell in Philly!!!!!!!!!!

This would be a great fit, but.................pitching is where the money will go. Of course, they have to sign Rowand first. With the money they will have without signing Garcia, and a few other over priced pitchers, they should have the money to go after someone like Lowell! We can always dream!!!!!!

I don't see that happening unless they can move Burrell. Michael Bourn is a prototypical leadoff hitter and potential gold glove centerfielder.

I'm torn on this one. There is no doubt that Lowell is a great guy and a perfect teammate. I am proud that he plays for my team. There is also no doubt that he really came through big this year and that Sox probably don't win the East or the Series without him.

But, he had a freak year and he's getting up there in age, so I don't want to overpay him based that. I'm not saying don't pay him - just keep it under control please.

I see this kind of playing out like the Johnny Damon case did.

With the Yankees already paying out the ass for aging stars in Posada and Rivera, if they do spend big on Lowell, I can see them declining in a hurry. They're already relying on that young pitching to develop (Hughes is still a question mark and Chamberlain has only proved that he can be a dominating reliever), and they don't have shit in terms of position prospects.

Michael Bourn is a speedster. Can't hit, has a weak arm and makes too many mistakes in the outfield. Will take Victorino, Worth over him anytime. Will not be the Phillies starter in any fashion. He is a bench player at best! As you can tell, I am NOT a big fan of his ability! Burrell has a no-trade clause(only he can okay a trade) in his contract and has told the Phillies that he doesn't want to leave.

Bourn does not have power, but he is a solid hitter and well above average defensively. He's a better version of Juan Pierre, and yes he will be starting for the Phillies. Whether or not you are a fan of his abilities is irrelevant, as scouts and the organization think he has a bright future.

In another rumopr (from ESPN Insider) Curt Schillings name is being mentioned for the Phils. I used to really like him but between his age and his need to talk and give his opinion on anything I'd take a pass

fuck. that describes the Dodgers exactly. I was hoping we would pay A-Rod more money than he's worth. Lowell doesn't have the power that is required in the heavy air at Dodger stadium. Hope we get Hunter/Jones, A-Rod
