Yep...it finally happened. Was packing last night so I could leave for Nashville this morning and blew my right knee out. Pulled ligaments - 6-8 weeks healing time. See the real orthopedic doctor in 2 weeks. Limited work duty. No kneeling, squatting, or sitting on the floor - which means I won't be able to do much at work, well as much as I do every day. My vacation days have now turned into sick leave. Ice, rest, and either Darvaset or Lortab this weekend. I think I have plenty to make it until Tuesday afternoon when I go back to work.

Sorry to hear about it. Rest and enjoy the down time.
I believe I have a meniscus issue forming myself. Feels like a nail stuck in my knee in the inner side of my knee cap

I blew an ACL in my right knee years ago. One trick I can pass along to you is to get a couple of gallon sized ziploc bags and a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Dump the bottle in the first bag then fill the bottle with water twice dumping the water in the bag each time so you have a 2 to 1 mix of water to alcohol. Then put the other bag over it so it is double bagged (stops leaks) then throw the whole thing in the freezer overnight. The next day it will be filled with a frozen slush that will form around your knee or anywhere else you need it.

Another tip is to ice it from behind your knee not over your knee cap. It gets to the area that needs it better that way. Don't leave it on there for too long maybe 15 or 20 minutes at a time. It is great for swelling and makes it feel better.

Great advice here -- I'd forgotten about the alcohol/water slush bag. It works really well.
