I believe you are overstating the impact Morrison would have had this year.

If it was Richardson, Wallace or Okafor that was injured, yeah, maybe. But Morrison wasn't project to be a starter - he may have been coming off the bench 7th or so.

They can still make the playoffs in a weak eastern conference. The biggest thing that will hold them back is lack of big men. Okafor is not able to do it all and he invariably misses several games each year.

It's not just Morrison, it's Morrison & May. I obviously never thought a lot of either player, as I believed that both were bad choices, but they were still counted on as key depth. Losing two players out of your rotation for the entire season obviously does a lot of damage to hopes that were already somewhat unrealistic.

It's getting worse for Morrison. He has excessive swelling in his knee and they won't even bo able operate for a month.

Wallace and Richardson are the real deal. Okafor is solid when he is healthy. Felton needs to step up a bit but he is quality too. That gives them four good starters. They have Carroll and Hermann coming off the bench. They are thin but I can not see this team not being a good bit better than last year. They are in the east so a playoff spot is still a possibility.

Sports Illustrated predicts them to finish even worse this year. They have them 14th in the East, ahead of only Philadelphia. I guess the problem is that every other team improved as well.

not entirely true. he will rehab the knee and the time before surgery will allow doctors to prep him for the procedure, as he deals with diabetes too. can't be too careful when operating on a diabetic--too much risk of infections and the like...
