Morrison was a dumbass pick, but I actually feel sorry for the Oklahoma City Bobcats.

He was not a great pick. You expect more from a number 3 overall than a good sixth man. Still I think he would have been decent in that role and his loss weakens the team.

Obviously I didn't want another NBA team and I'm just glad that I don't have to pay taxes for the stupid arena that the voters didn't want (although it is awfully nice), but I genuinely do feel bad for the team at this point. Everyone was thinking this would be their year to finally do something, and now all those expectations have already been crushed. The truly hardcore will just shift their hopes to next year, but this season was the Bobcats' chance to make in-roads with the community and they'll fail to do so through no particular fault of their own. It's a regular greek tragedy.

I think they can still win over some fans. if they play hard every night like they did last year they will be alright in that department. Richardson and Wallace should be fun to watch. any shortcomings with the community won't be the actual players fault, but moreso the organizations. and people who have already made up their mind based on the past/Hornets/arena probably aren't going to change their thinking no matter what the Bobcats do.

Playing hard isn't enough. Teams already said that the Bobcats played hard and the people who weren't already fans didn't care. They needed to generate some serious buzz, and I don't think there's any chance of that happening now, although I don't think their chances of getting accepted by the community were that big regardless. I watch about 25 times more college basketball games than I do NBA games, so I doubt that I would have been that interested in the Bobcats unless they made the conference finals.

Crushed because of losing Morrison ? Please.
He was a role player at best last year. The addition of Richardson and the good play from Herrmann and Matt Carroll all but guaranteed he'd be fighting for floor time.
True, losing him and that fat waste of a pick Sean JellyRoll May will hurt us depth-wise, but overall we're in better shape than last year.
