Did they put you on a full liquid diet? If so how hungry were you?

Yeah I've always liked V-8 and tomato juice. Of course, I load it full of salt too.

And no, it's not bad for you per se, but it's no substitute for real fruits and veggies. It's just better than a soda for you. If you don't like it, by all means don't drink it as it's really not all that good for you.

I wonder if that stuff that they mix with fruit juice will work the same. Fusion or whatever they call it.

No. They started me out on two liquid meal replacements a day, so I had one regular meal (usually lunch, sometimes dinner) and three snacks -- one before the gym, one between breakfast and lunch, and one between lunch and dinner.

For snacks, you want to stick to high protein and complex carbs. Those South Beach Diet protein bars are good and can be bought OTC at Target and Walmart. Whole grain Wheat Thins are good, too, as long as you stick to the serving size.

Surprisingly, I wasn't very hungry at all. That was mostly due to the high protein content of the shakes they gave me. As a rule, the more protein you get, the longer it takes to digest it, and the less hungry you get in between meals.

I have a doctor's appointment today. I am going to ask him if he can do something for me or refer me to a specialist who can.
