Cheer up, you're still better than FAU, FIU and UCF....for now.

not upset -- anymore. they're just like any other team now -- expectations are high, you don't believe it until you see it and there's a lot of "IF" qualifiers thrown in to every pre-game discussion (if the offensive line can block, if decody fagg can hold on to the ball, if myron rolle can wrap up...etc.).

problem is bowden still continues to insist that fsu is just "one player" away from being no. 1. seriously.

You made it pretty clear that you thought Jeff Bowden was the biggest reason that FSU wasn't living up to your expectations. It's actually a lot like the Panthers fans who bitched about Henning only to find the same problems persisting after his absence. Jeff Bowden's play-calling was not the biggest problem with FSU's offense, or necessarily a problem at all. The problem is what I said it was last year during that argument - namely the inability to pick the right quarterbacks or offensive linemen. I'm fine with putting some of that on Bobby, but I think that the calls for replacing him are pretty silly.
Hardly. They still bring in stellar recruiting classes every year, generally second only to UF in the state of Florida the last few seasons. You get rid of Bowden and recruits will have no reason to choose the Seminoles over the Bulls or even the Knights. The only thing that really needs to change is that FSU needs to make it a point of emphasis to bring in smarter quarterbacks and more fundamentally sound offensive linemen. Do that and you'll be winning again in no time, but as it is, you're still pretty well off. You're upset about a 7-6 season because you're spoiled. Most fans have to deal with losing seasons now and then, whereas FSU hasn't had one since 1976 despite consistently playing a tough schedule.
