It's the distance that you cover that is most important, not the speed. While you obviously burn more calories jogging, you will do just fine walking.

If you want to try cycling, that would be a good, low impact way to go. Of course, like almost anything else, how much you get out of it depends on how much you put into it. If you just go through the motions, it doesn't matter what you do -- cycle, walk, lift, whatever -- you'll just be wasting your time and getting frustrated. But if you really invest in what you're doing, you can do a lot of different things and they'll all be beneficial.

Oh, and BTW, there's nothing that says you have to do the same thing every day. You can cycle one or two days, walk one or two days, swim (if you have access to water), or whatever.

The city I live in, or live near anyway, has created this walking/cycling park that is several miles long and very nice. I think finding a way to use it would be better than paying for a gym membership.

I don't go to a gym. Walking, running, and pushups. Lost 50 lbs in 5 months.

I think a doctor assisted diet might be the thing for me. If I am losing ten pounds per month like you guys then I can stay motivated pretty easily. What kills me is when I do well for a week or two and then gain a pound.
