    I hate to discourage you, Thelt, but Sly's right. If you can't find a way to build regular exercise back into your life, neither dieting nor surgery will yield the kind of long-term results you're looking for. I know that's a very tall order with two little kids, but I really don't believe there's any other way to achieve your goal. :frown:

    I can respect your opinion more than most knowing you have lived it. What kind of exercise did it for you? You go to the gym don't you?

    Yeah. Because of my knee (football) and ankle (OTJ accident) I use an elliptical machine. 35 minutes, 5 times a week. I also do about 30 minutes of weight training, but the cardio is what burns the fat off.

    My docs said that 30 minutes of mild to moderate cardio, 5 times a week is the key. You don't have to kill yourself, but you do need to be consistent.

    I have a bum knee too. The town I live in has a nice area for bike riding. I may buy a bicycle and try that.

    Walking would be better. You'd have to ride a bike much longer timewise to burn the same amount of calories. Too much coasting.
