employing the current logic behind the BCS machine, lets pick our own championship pairings for ALL sports. pick your sport, pick your season (dating back as far as you wish) and pick your teams. this should only bolster the BCS Logic as the rest of the free world thinking will be exposed as backward.

    2007 MLB World Series Teams
    NY Yankees vs. NY Mets.

logical, they would certainly draw the largest gates, travel for both teams and fans would be minimal, top notch tv ratings and media coverage/brilliant. done deal. next.......

    Super Bowl XXXVII

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots

everybody knows that these two teams actually deserved a shot at the title based on their "body of work" within the regular season. Tampa Bay and Oakland had no business playing for the title. hell, the Eagles had already won head-to-head against the Bucs earlier that season. end of that argument right there. and we all know that was a fumble in the snow, dont we? tuck rule? bullshit. the Pats were far and away the better of the two AFC squads. lets re-elect this match-up based on the BCS Logic. nobody wants to see the Bucs and Raiders anyway.

I think that 2007 MLB world series would be either the Cubs or Dodgers for the national league, and the Yankees or Red Sox from the American League. The Cubs because they have an unbelievable fan base and would attract many many people, as well as the Yankees or Sox. The Dodgers are LA, plain and simple.

you could be right. its too bad we had to drag the damn playoff format into this thing along with the Rockies and D' backs, the Angels and Indians too. reality always seems to fuck up the best laid plans of mice and money.....i mean men.

With "BCS logic" we wouldn't have been stuck with the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. They did win playoff series fair and square, but it was a joke that they even made the playoffs since they were such a mediocre team all season long. That just goes to show that a playoff allows for a clearly inferior team to just get hot at the right team and suddenly become the "champion." Even right now the Rockies are an awesome story, but any system that values performance over a full season shows that they aren't one of the two best teams in MLB.

I also fail to see how a Phoenix vs. Spurs championship wouldn't have been better than Spurs vs. Cavs. Ditto for New England (or San Diego) vs. Indianapolis rather than the Bears. The list goes on and on.

But really, VI, is this what you want to do? Surely you know that you aren't remotely capable of arguing anything with me, and that you'll only end up embarrassing yourself. I suggest that you reconsider and just keep your mouth shut.

    Collin,

You are too fucking stupid to even realize you have already lost this arguement to VI. And he never even took his warm-ups off.

For 2 seasons, I posted a simulated national championship tournament (and will again once the conference champions are decided and the final BCS poll is released), and Collin just goes berserk.

The games should be decided on the field, and not by a computer or the opinions of sports writer.

I can't decide if you're really stupid enough to believe that or such a spineless coward that you are too scared to argue your point because you know that you'd lose. Let me know which it is, as I'm curious.

Again, most of you are thoughtless people. Some of you are just born stupid, but most of you aren't, you just don't choose to think about things at any kind of complex level. You react to your surroundings prima facie, perhaps because that requires the least effort. I doubt that even 10% of the people who clammor for a playoff have ever even considered the pros and cons, but they babble on anyway because that's the way the ordinary person operates. Of course, you may come to realize that your understanding is naive and flawed, at which point you're reduced to acting like wossa and pretending that the answer is self-evident because you're too scared to acknowledge that you can't actually defend your position logically.
