    SC shouldn't have scored that first TD. That was clearly an interception and the officials (SEC mind you) just blew the call.

    Too many dropped TD passes (2 for sure), 4 points lost in the kicking game, and that punt shoulda been blocked!

    James Madison = D1-AA
    ECU = lost to West Virginia by 41
    Virginia = 6-1, but look who they've played
    USF = I knew they were good, but Carolina got blown the fuck out
    VT = Worst Hokies team in years, still lost
    Miami = Worst 'Canes team in years, almost blew a gift
    SCar = Overrated

    Look, I want to be optimistic, I do, but the team I saw against South Florida was awful. I'm pleased that the guys have played so hard and kept themselves competitive in most games, but Carolina just isn't a good team. They're still a bad team right now, albeit a talented bad team. And moreover, I don't see a reason to think that they're anywhere close to being "DAMN good." I want it to happen, as I've always been more of a football fan than basketball fan, but that's just homer talk.

    As a Gamecock fan, I will be the first to say that we are dramatically overrated (6th nationally). But...this is a crazy year.

    UNC certainly gained much respect with their effort, but keep in mind, although UNC looked terrific in the 2nd half, for whatever reason, Spurrier went to a very predictable ball control offense. (I never would have dreamt that he would do so). But what is even more puzzing is that I didn't think he would know what that was (ball control).:thumbsdown:

    Agree. There's still Tennessee and Florida on the schedule and Arkansas can be dangerous too. I think the Gamecocks are a year or two away from being something special, particularly because of the issues on the O-line. There's some potential with the current clump of receivers for a compliment to McKinley to emerge, but none have made a strong case yet.

    Next year we'll lose Web Brown (center...G. Anderson is a Sophomore who should be bigger and better), Cory Boyd...big loss, but I think Mike Davis may be better. Brian Maddox was 4th RB in the country per ESPN and will be a sophomore. On D we lose Casper Brinkley, but Jasper comes back. That's it.

    I don't know what game you were at but I was at the game and not one fan left at halftime. And the fans stood and cheered the heels as they left the field

    I, too, heard a lot of people left. Heard it was mainly the older crowd that left at the half. I was NOT there.

    I remember when we applauded last year when we lost to Auburn by 6...Spurrier asked us to never applaud again when we lose.
