The "Stop Bitching About David Carr" Thread

Collin, you are a trip. It's not even remotely possible for you to humiliate me over the internet... unless of course you find a way to actually turn your words into some sort of physical entity. Your insults actually make me laugh more than they make me feel bad, because I actually feel like a member of the club now. Up until now, I felt left out because I had never been on the receiving end of a good old fashion Collin rant...I feel special now. Thanks.


Meanwhile, Carr is not above criticism anymore than Delhomme was...starting a thread forbidding it, won't change that little fact, and it has nothing at all to do with my status as a Panthers fan (whatever that means). If I could pull for Kerry Collins, I can, and will, pull for David Carr, neither are above criticism though.

For the record, without going back and reading everything I've posted, I don't remember saying that our season is over, or calling for Matt Moore to start right away. I still have faith in the talent on this team and I do believe they have a chance to win Sunday...I just don't believe that Carr is playing well enough to get it done without the rest of the team stepping up their game bigtime, especially the defense. I don't think Moore is ready to start yet either. I simply pointed out that the kid found a way to put up 69yds and 3 points on the board, even though he had no prior experience, either with this offense, the WR's, or in the NFL period, so Carr shouldn't get a free pass for being new to the team.

 

Your emotional responses sure seem to indicate that you have sore feelings about being exposed as a complete idiot. I could be wrong, but that's the way it looks given your behavior. Hell, it would be inhuman not to get upset about someone showing what a moron you have been in this discussion.

• You said that Carr didn't go long. I showed that he went deep on six of the nineteen times we gave him an opportunity to throw.

• You said that Carr wasn't productive enough. I showed that 119 yards isn't bad at all considering that he only had 17 official attempts, plus that total would have looked even better without one 20 yard pass being called back by a holding penalty and another being dropped by Steve, not to mention the defensive penalty that prevented a touchdown to Colbert.

• You said that the play-calling wasn't an issue. I showed that we ran consecutively on first and second down seven different times on the nine drives where we had the ball. That was piss poor play-calling, especially given how effective Carr was when we actually let him throw on first or second down.

How do you not get why I'm pissed about this? You have given zero facts to support your constantly crapping on Carr. Zero. Meanwhile I've gone to the trouble to research and back up my points about him being solid against the Saints, yet you continue to babble incoherently without even pausing. That's irritating. To paraphrase Jack Nicholson, when I actually go to the trouble to educate you on something you are clearly clueless about, I would prefer that you just said thank you and went on your way.

You're the one who humiliates himself constantly by arguing with anyone and everyone about anything and everything. You have a great deal of football knowledge but guess what, that doesn't mean you are always right and that no one else has a right to their own opinions. I think it's amusing that you admit that you don't grasp my vocabulary, but instead of whining I'd simply suggest that you buy a dictionary. I keep one by my computer for the times when I encounter a word I'm not familiar with.

It's also funny that you're crying about being insulted. Remember, chief, you're the one who insulted me when I stated what I thought Jake's injury was. You could have just kept your mouth shut and been safely irrelevant, but instead you had to make an ass of yourself and then be humiliated when it turns out that I was correct all along. Hell, it's not like that's the first time you've gotten yourself in trouble by saying something dumb. Someone of your limited intellect should get comfortable with staying in the background.

I find it disturbing that instead of being mature enough to acknowledge that you were proven wrong, and subsequently correct yourself, you instead indulge in childish behavior and keep spouting the same opinions as if they'd never been invalidated. Either you care about "the truth," which means acknowledging when someone proves you wrong, or you only care about spouting your own beliefs without any concern for their legitimacy.

When you start getting access to the play book and the coaches tapes, you can tell me about the play calling. Until then, you're just making an educated guess on all of this stuff just like the rest of us. You have no idea how much freedom Carr has to audible out of a running play on 1st and 2nd down, or if he made the correct reads when passes were called on 3rd down, therefore, you haven't proven a damned thing and I'm under no obligation to admit anything.

I probably am childish, but so what? It's better than treating this stuff like life and death the way you seem to do. You're just mad because you know you can't ruin my fun.
