Dicky was the second lead guitar player behind Duane. They often traded leads and it worked because Dicky was out of tune on purpose.

The second guitarist being out of tune is a hallmark of Southern rock.

I've played for 20 years and never heard anything about playing out of tune.

Disagree. Geddy Lee is VERY well known to people that know music. Dimebag was an average AT BEST metal guitarist. There's 100's that are more talented, better song writers, and have more recongnizable styles. His death propelled him to "elite status." Nothing more.

Mustaine, Hammet, Satriani, Vai, Van Halen, Malmsteen, DeMartini, Tipton/Downing, Holfmann, Skolnick, Oliva, Vinnie Moore, Steve Morse, Emmett, Lifeson, Lynch, Roads, Wylde (even though I hate his style), Young, Sykes, Slash, DeGarmo, Beach...these are just a few hard rock/metal guitarists that would literally blow Diamond Darryl (his name during their 3 glam albums) away.

I guess you can tell I'm not much of a fan. :ninja:

I can't believe it took this long for someone to mention Randy Rhoads. Also, if you want to go classical, it's hard to get better than Andres Segovia.
