Thank you, my point wasn't about his completion %, but more of the yards and TD production compared to Jake that monstercat wanted to use for comparison. If most of your passes are short, you are less likely to have as much yardage or as many touchdowns as a passer that is putting the ball in play farther downfield, common sense here people. I don't know what Houstons system was like when Carr was there as I didn't watch their games. And I also I don't know what type of YAC houston WR/TE group has compared to Carolina, this is also a huge factor that can affect the total yardage and TD numbers.

And I would want to give Carr more than a game and half before we hang him. We all know that Jake has had streches where some of us on this board wanted to hang him. If Carr can progress with this team I can live with that for this year.

Not saying he will even be good, because longterm I would want more from a QB than what he has provided so far.

All I know is that I want production. I don't give a flying fuck about a high completion percentage if he's not sustaining drives and producing TD's. Any stat that's not backed up by points and wins is worthless to me. Hell, I don't care if he has to run for 1,000yds like Mike Vick as long as he scores TD's and wins games. So far, even the running game looks worse with Carr at the helm though.

BTW, he actually played better after the injury, so that's no excuse. Neither is him not being here long...Jake scored as many points in his first half of football here as Carr has in two games, and Jake had only two prior starts for ANY NFL team. At any rate, there is no grace period here...we need Carr to win right now, because in case nobody has noticed, we have a bitch of a schedule coming up. I hope he proves me wrong.

As fever said, you have to look at the type of offense, as it doesn't always have all that much to do with the QB. People say that Favre has sucked in recent years, but last year was his first since '93 that he didn't have at least 20 passing TDs. Meanwhile Jake only topped 20 in two of his four seasons. I'm not saying that it isn't fair to criticize Carr's low TDs because it is, but you shouldn't say that's the only thing that matters. He's not as good as his recent QB ratings or completion percentage suggest, but he's not as bad as those TD numbers either.
Come on, man, that's retarded. Carr has no effect on the running game, which also sucked with Jake at the helm against Houston. We feasted in two games on teams we also destroyed with the running game last year. Atlanta and St. Louis just suck something fierce against the run.
Carr didn't play well against Tampa Bay, but versus the Saints he was limited by some god awful play-calling. Aside from the one INT, he was accurate when actually asked to pass downfield, which didn't happen enough.

Does anybody know if Carr is even gonna be able to play? He got injured as well. I'm wondering if Moore will be starting and Carr won't play until after the bye.

Play calling? You do realize the on every pass play, the QB has more than one option, right? You do realize that he can audible out of bad plays, right? It's funny, Matt Moore came in and threw a 43 yard completion on his very first NFL throw and he hasn't been here but a month...how did they allow him to do that, yet, Carr is being held back by play calling? And yes, the running game actually looked smoother and more efficient when Moore was in there. Carr looked lost on some of his hand offs...if you have the game on tape, watch it again and pay attention to the timing of the hand offs when Carr was in the game. If you think it's retarded that a QB can effect the running game as well as the passing game, you've never played the position. Offense is all about timing and rhythm and it all starts with the QB.

:huh2: What QB are you watching? He needs to throw the ball with some zip on it. More like tossing a cotton ball

“It’s one of our base plays,” Moore said. “It’s something they knew I was comfortable with. I saw Keary one-on-one with his guy. The safety was kind of playing low, so I figured I could put it up over the top - just put it out there where Keary could go get it. That was my thought process, and it worked out, so it felt good.”

I had pretty good seats behind the Panther's bench and I thought that Moore looked pretty damned good on the sideline and in the game. Tall, strong stature, throws a crisp pass. Ran the offense well -- better than Carr.

I was kinda disappointed to see Carr come back in.

There ya go. If it was one of the base plays, then Carr has run the same play several times already. The fact is, on most pass plays, they are lining up at least two, and usually three WR's, along with a TE and a RB, who is usually the checkdown. You can't tell me that Carr is being told to throw to one guy and that nobody is running a route of more than 10yds. Davidson can call whatever play he wants, but it's up to the QB to make the right read once the ball is snapped.

Look, I want to win football games. If Carr can get it done, I'll be his biggest fan, but so far, I haven't seen anything that gives me a reason to be confident in him. People can talk about his completion percentage in Houston all day long, but that's not going to win US any ball games. I'm extremely worried and frustrated right now because I expected this team to be better than this, so I apologize if I'm acting like an asshole. I just feel like we lost our only hope when Jake was lost for the season and it pisses me off.
