A roster overhaul? That indicates the whole thing needs to be blown up.

We need help at safety and MLB since Morgan can't stay healthy.

WR could be a concern, at least Jarret saw some action and produced yesterday.

What else do we need?

 

The o-line isn't particularly great.

Kemo needs replacing.

No adequate run-stopping ends behind ruck and pep.

 

This team needs leaders. Jake and Morgan were our leaders and they were out. There is no one left to step up. If a team scores on us, it's obvious everyone acts like the wind has poofed out of their sails. If you cut the head off a snake the snake dies...blah blah blah....When we draft, that needs to be high on the priority list. I know these are grown men and it shouldn't be that way, but it is.

 

This team plays with no heart...and you can look at Peppers as the leader of the no heart team. I honestly believe that he doesn't have the passion needed to play consistently well at this level. He's the Rickey Williams of defense...extremely talented, inconsistent motivation, may decide to leave football to pursue other activities (visit the Dali Lama). This team needs to have more players with Steve Smith's intensity.

The last year that the Panther's defense showed any sign of "smashmouth" football was during the Sapp days at Tampa.

If Peppers had a mean streak in him like some of the great defenders we've seen, I do think he would be better, but I dont think he doesnt have passion for the game.

Do agree that we need more players with Smittys makeup...

I see the other guys on the team similar to Smitty as: Delhomme, Chris Harris, Jon Beason, Jenkins, McGlover, and I cant think of any others...

 

I'll be shocked if Peppers stays in the game 3 more years. Passion is not something that is inconsistent. Either you have it or you don't. He gets by on his extraordinary talent, but he is not one I would depend on. And if he can't gather the necessary "mean streak"...he is in the wrong sport.
