So am I, which is why I started talking about the ulnar ligament right after it happened, but the type of injury does matter. If it is a strain, which seems likely (I had one and had to avoid throwing for many months before it completely healed although I didn't have team doctors or rehab), then that's unfortunate but probably doesn't have much long-term significance. If there is some fraying or detachment, however, that could be a more serious problem.

The fishwrap write-up said he didn't make it to the bench before dropping to his knees (if TV showed that, sorry, I was busy tying a noose).

Wow, I didn't realize we had so many doctors on the board, and good ones too, you can even diagnose injuries by looking at him on TV. So how long should we expect Jake to be out? Can you please call the trainers and let them know what it is. Thanks.

We were just guessing as to what the injury might be. Where he grabbed, the fact that it happened without contact, and how it was treated on the sideline were all clues. But I'm still interested in the specifics, which is why I asked if they were known.
