17.5 K miles per year isn't exactly low mileage.

No it is not but 35k is not to bad for an '05 seeing how we are into the '08 model year now.

17.5 per for two years is 35K. Changing the wording doesn't change the fact that 17.5K isn't low.

No it doesn't. We put a lot of miles on it the first year we owned it but still 35k is not that bad for a 2005 model. If you saw an ad for an 05 with 35k you would not think it was horrible.

You said before you've had it less than 2 years.

35k in less than 2 years is alot of miles.

That said - Chrysler resale values suck. All American car resale values suck.

For that matter, all resale values suck. Some suck more than others, but they all suck.

If you're buying a car...buy the fucker. ESPECIALLY a new one. You're going to lose your ass over the first several years.

Thelt, you should have bought a 2 year old with 35K on it. Hear you can get them for around $8,000 on a dealer lot. :euro:

We got really lucky. We bought a new 2005 Honda CRV. We bought it in early 2006, and it was the last one they had, so they gave us a great deal at $16,500.

Earlier this year while shopping around for our Honda Fit, I was seeing 2005 Honda CRVs on the lots for $16,000+ with MORE miles than what ours has.

Morale of the story - avoid American cars... buy a Honda.

Yea we had a Honda Civic and it was a great little car. It was fun to drive and got at least 35mpg. The only reason we traded it in was that it was too small to carry all the kids in. We pretty much have to have a car that can seat at least six. I have a Ford Explorer with the third row and I am very happy with it. My wife drives the van and she does not care much for it.

I'd swear I'd never buy a brand new car again. We're going to be in the market sometime next year. I'll see if my wife lets me go the used car route. New cars are one of the worst investments one can make, other than say a 1985 Topps USA McGwire card.
