    that sucks. :(

i picked up this series maybe around the time the 3rd or 4th book came out. it was a nice read, but started getting very long and way slow. by book 7 or 8, things were really crawling so i kinda put it down cuz it was a drag having to re-acquaint myself with the series every time a new book came out and it looked like it was taking him a couple years per. sad that he won't get to finish it. not sure it's really worth reading if somebody else finishes it for him.

my friend just started the eye of the storm last month.

Sly - my bad. For some reason I thought you were a Jordan fan.

FWIW, the first 5 or so books are excellent. They really are worth reading.

I was out at the mall with my new GF back in '90 and I commented to her that I didn't have anything good to read. She picked up a copy of what was the original large paperback version of the book (he wasnt originally published in hardback - no one knew who he was til book #2) based on the cool cover and fold out illustration. The book was excellent, but it also reminded me of her and that summer we were together.

I also got about half of my frat to read the series by loaning them my copies of EOTW & The Great Hunt. Didn't fail to hook a single person who tried them. We'd debate them over lunch sometimes. Or, the guys would get baked on a weeknight and argue plotlines. Good times in nerdville.

    AHHH!!

Was actually at the store just last friday looking (hoping) that the next book had been sent out since I had last heard that he was doing a little better.

Oh, well. I just started re-reading the series so that I would be prepared. Seems like a really quiet time in bookland with next to nothing coming from Jordan or Goodkind in their long series.

Try Greg Keyes if you haven't yet. Excellent.
