It would be a good idea, if Time Warner Cable would agree to carry the channel :( :( . . . . . BTW, I think the whole MASN blitz campaign is picking up speed. At some point, I think the powers that be are going to force Time Warner to carry MASN (like Time Warner having to finally carry FOX NEWS years ago).

    MASN Website

This is from an email that I got from MASN today . . . .

    Dear Sports Fan,

We wanted to let you know that your voice is definitely being heard.

This week, MASN Spokesman, Todd Webster appeared on 850 The Buzz in Raleigh to talk about the tremendous effort sports fans throughout North Carolina have put into convincing their cable companies to carry MASN.

In the past few weeks, elected officials have listened to angry constituents and stepped up their own efforts to convince Time Warner Cable and Suddenlink to carry MASN.

Last week, Durham Mayor Bill Bell and Raleigh Mayor Charles Meeker sent letters to Time Warner encouraging the cable giant to put MASN on basic cable.

This week, Mayor Parrott of Greenville voiced his concerns to Suddenlink through a letter, available here.

The Attorney General's office has already received over 200 consumer complaints, according to The Independent Weekly.

Even though thousands of you have signed the petition supporting MASN, Time Warner Cable still maintains that you are "not interested" in MASN's sports programming, including North Carolina college sports.

Your hard work is definitely paying off and your elected officials are starting to take notice. Please take a moment today to tell-a-friend about PlayBallNow.org or send a complaint to the Attorney General.

    Sincerely,

Your friends at Play Ball Now

Why should Charlotte TWC subsidize the Nationals & the Orioles?

Well, don't we do the same for the Braves via SPORTSOUTH & FSN-SOUTH?

If the Bobcats would get off NEWS14 and get on another regional sports network with wide appeal, I think the team's interest level would go up quite a bit and thus attendance. I think this is the #1 issue with the team, but I don't think anybody at 333 East Trade Street have the guts to come out and say it. I mean, they are having training camp in Wilmington again but TW Cable down there doesnt' even carry NEWS14!!!! Its not the best way to generate fan interest 'Hey, you can catch our 10 free-TV games each season . . Thanks for following the Bobcats   . . . '

You want to put them on a network that broadcasts Maryland and D.C. area sports, how wide do you think the appeal is for that? Not as wide as it is for News 14, I'd dare say.

The 'Cats have distribution problems on the TV end for sure. MASN ain't gonna fix that.

You may want to be pushing for Comcast Sports as an alternative to ESPN/FSN. MASN is a non player.

wait--you have MASN, and are Red Sox games are being blacked out?

Well, if that's true, I'm glad TWC doesn't carry it. Why anyone (like VP-a Sox fan) would want MASN if they black out his teams games (and his team isn't even the South East region), would be beyond me.

No, TWC doesn't carry MASN, but whenever the Sox and O's play, they black the games out on the baseball package because Charlotte is still listed as an O's home region.
