If Delhomme somehow isn't the QB I sure hope that Carr isn't supposed to be the replacement.

Realistically, we can't go back in time and blind Carr's parents, so Delhomme it is. Yesterday bought him a half a year by itself at least, but I don't buy that we'd cut him after this year just for the cap.

Not just for the cap, no. He was in danger of being cut both because of his huge salary and because he played like crap too often last season. The first game was a plus, but he still needs to bring that consistently.

After watching Carr for the first time in preseason, I'm very confused as to why he would have been the #1 pick in the draft. He doesn't throw like a QB and he looks very uncomfortable in the pocket.....I guess that many sacks in Houston doesn't help....but he really isn't anything I anticipated from the first pick in the draft.

it'd have to be more catastrophic than that, and we'd have to come up with better. The idea that Carr is that heir apparent would suggest some things that haven't yet happened, possibly including midseason replacement. And no, the one game isn't a season, but it goes a ways when you're talking about uprooting a four year starter.

No, it wouldn't. Pretty much every national source said that this year Jake had to step it up or be replaced after the season. I imagine that some were just speculating without reason, but it would be a pretty big stretch to think that none of them had been made aware of genuine concern within the organization. Moreover, that makes sense. Jake cost us games last season and didn't play well overall despite solid statistics. Week 1 was very nice, and if he can keep that up, he'll be here indefinitely.

sources said it because of Carr being added, but that's not why we added Carr. The team isn't going to drop Jake on a whim. As it is, right now it's likely going to take him being replaced to get him cut, and I don't see that. Yes, I do believe that would take worse than 2006. Carr's mediocrity didn't help, either.

No, they were saying it before we added Carr, but none of us really know. Hopefully we'll never know.

yeah, I guess there was the ESPN report, or was it PFW? Came out before the injury. Either way, yeah, it's better off if he keeps getting them in the biscuits.
