Every year, we have out 'WTF cut. This year it's Ball. He was our best back-up lineman in camp and during the preseason.

Strait was also a guy who deserved a spot, IMO. Once again, we've leaving ourselves rather thin at corner. I thought we learned our lesson after last year's mess.

And I don't think Haynes 'won' the roster spot. It was pretty much a case of both guys being mediocre, and I guess we wanted to go ahead and end the Shelton experiment.

I thought Teal played well enough. It's not like he was trying out of the 70's Raiders.

If Rucker has a setback, we will really miss Ball, but I guess they figure that Johnson is good enough to handle run duties.

Ball and strait were really the only surprises.

I also throw keeping Butler on that list- though I have high hopes for him odds are next year he is gone.

My prediction is that Shelton will be picked up by Asslanta.

Petrino loves him some Eric Shelton, especially since both were at Lewieville at the same time.

Yeah, I thought Ball was in, and don't like being thin at CB either. Hopefully we can keep those guys on the PS or have better in mind.

Shelton, wtf from day one. A Nelson sized waste of assets.

Agreed with the Ball move, I don't like it. He played well enough to earn a roster spot. On the flip side, I don't see the big deal with Strait is...seems like I have seen him burned multiple times. He would have been depth, but none of any quality.

The one that really chaps me was Biddle being cut in favor of Horn. Yes, Tye had that fumble versus the Steelers, otherwise, he had a heck of a camp. He caught just about everything that was thrown to him. I thought he was a shoo-in if we kept six WRs.

Yeah, Shelton was as good as gone...no shock there.

A few to ponder as to why they as still here: Butler, Mathis, Montgomery and Jamison. I guess the team isn't ready to throw more draft picks away just yet (Jamison aside).

Horn is more of a receiver than Biddle, who is fairly limited in the routes that he can run effectively. I think Horn also plays special teams.

All 8 LB had a reason to be there - Jamison might be a surprise, but that was likely to be Melton's spot, so if you think he could've contributed, close enough, but I still doubt we'd get rid of Shaw for him.

I'm guessing week 3, either Salley will be put on IR or they'll cut Montgomery. Long shot, Mathis instead, but we have four guys who can play C and right now Mathis is the only guy on the bench with guard experience.

I can see how people would think Strait was solid, having a half sack and some nice hits, but Deloatch was a more solid cover guy I guess. Strait just didn't excel at the things he needed to do most.

yep. We cut a second stringer for two third stringers. People love Grigsby, but he's not outrageous.

Still, neither Ball nor Grigsby would be long time starters, but Johnson probably will play a nice role for this defense one day.
