this (rays and chisox series) is where boston needs to make some hay. yankees have a good chance of losing their series against anaheim and detroit. an eight or nine game lead going into the Bronx isn't out of the question.

JD drew. what a signing. this guy will be lucky to hit 10 homers.

NO shit. Should've kept Trot, and platooned him with a minor leaguer, would have gotten the same results. What did Trot end up getting from the Tribe money wise? Kevin Millar Oriole retard style money, or something reasonable?

Well 7.5 game lead right now and it may be 8 because we are off Mon and the Yanks face Verlander.

I like that we have Dice, Beckett and Schill going this series. Time for the knockout punch.

If Schill comes through today they are still 7 back and playing for a wildcard.

I see what you're saying. But if Schill doesn't come through, the Yanks are five back with three upcoming against Rays while the Sox play three against the O's. Today's game is a must win, imhmfo. first pitch is a half hour away.

The Sox are fine, but you obviously would like to knock New York as far back as possible in the wild card race.

this is true. although I can see the Yankees losing to either the Angels, Indians or Tigers, I'd rather see them sitting home.

yankees 1, sox 0, top of the fifth
