Tim Hudson had another strong outing tonight. At 14-5 he is getting himself into the mix for a Cy Young. He sure is a different pitcher from last season.

They are giving me fits too. After Smoltz and Hudson they just don't have a starter they can bank on. I still think they have a shot at both the division and the wildcard but James, Carylisle, and the flavor of the week , need to step up and damned soon.

a 3-0 lead turns into an 8-7 loss.

this could be the last season with Roger Mcdowell in charge of the pitching staff. it appears the loss of Leo Mazone has hurt this team more than they're willing to admit.

After the latest ass kicking by the Reds I believe the Braves are done for 2007. With the trades I had a lot of hope of catching the Mets but man, has that gone down the toilet in a hurry. They can't put together a winning streak to save their lives. The freaking Reds :furious3:

no pen, nothing. joe simpson made the comment the other nite about having to score 10 runs a game just to have a shot at winning when smoltz or hudson has the nite off. two years in a row of this? its time to bring someone else in. i mean, you gotta do something.

McDowell may fall on the sword for the pitching mess this season. I think that Leo had more to work with when he was there, certainly with starting pitchers. The Braves started the season with the bullpen being the strength of the team, right now they're throwing gas on fires that they started. Still, I am an optomist and while the division is not looking good the wild card is still a shot to go to post-season.
