    It's still interesting to me that the Japanese are so racist that they refuse to buy American electronics.

    Well the Europeans don't have a console, so the 360 represents the current video game achievement of white people. But xenophobic would be a better label than racist, as the Japanese dislike pretty much everyone else.

    i don't think japan's problem with the xbox is the manufacturer. the reason the xbox doesn't sell well in japan is because the games available for the xbox don't generally cater to what the japanese market is interested in.

    i'm surprised ps3 hasn't sold more, but i guess getting the jump on sony was pretty major.

    No, you're wrong. The reason is the nationality of the company, as various surveys and other forms of market research have shown. MS even went to the trouble of securing exclusives to JRPGs, but without any tangible results. They should really just stop wasting money in courting that market and focus on the other regions.
    It's too expensive, but also the Japanese market is experiencing an overall shift away from high performance console games to more mobile (DS, phones, etc) and party formats (Wii).

    the 360 needs more games about dating 12 year old school girls and raping virgins in subway trains with tentacles. The japanese will love those.
