The preseason #1 pick has been in the title game each of the last 5 years or something right? If USC ends up undefeated going into Cal they will steamroll Cal. It will be a team like Oregon state or Oregon who sneaks up on them if they lose and I'm betting if they have one loss they get to go to the title game. no way they lose twice.

I agree, no way do the Trojans lose two games. I really don't think they'll lose one but let's say they do. The Oregon State, Oregon swing will be tough but UCLA is always there too. It's all about timing. Lose a game early and you have a better shot at getting to the title game. I think we may see at least two teams without a loss this year, USC and Texas. The Big East with West Virginia and Louisville could see a perfect regular season too but South Florida or Rutgers may have something to say about that. No way a team goes perfect in the SEC, it's just too tough. Va Tech could do it if they could win at LSU in week 2. The Big10 is tough to say for me. I don't ususally put a lot of stock in the Big10 but Michigan has a good team despite Lloyd Carr and his shortcomings in the big games. I can't wait for some slobberknockers on the tube this fall.

Rutgers is a good story but I think they are the 4th best team in the Big East behind Louisville, West Virginny, and South Florida. It helps that Tony Soprano in an alum though. Maybe he can have some key players from the other teams whacked....opps, he may have been whacked himself in that final epidose.

LSU's defense looked awfully good last night albeit against Mississippi State. The Tiger D looks like they have 15 players on the field. I still stick with my earlier post, someone will trip them up in the brutal SEC.
