Maybe, but I would hope that with a new offense we'd be getting everyone comfortable with what we plan to run instead of just running plays to evaluate certain players.

Beloved, lol. He's our starting QB and I want him to do well. The lovefest is the love to dislike him. Could the Panthers upgrade? Sure, but outside of Carr (who I'm not sold on yet) what should the team do? Jake does throw errant passes when under extreme pressure, we can agree on that, but it would help if he wasn't under constant pressure the entire half. This much I'll disagree with you on...the characterization of the line slipping up just a couple of times. The first unit played like crap as a whole...QB, O-line and so forth. Isn't also the O-line, backs, TEs responsibility to pick up blitzes in addition to QB recognition in order counter them effectively? Again, it was a COLLECTIVE miserable offensive effort.

One more thing, read page two of this thread.

the whole thing looked out of timing. The team might've been looking to do some extra analysis for the WRs, but they tried things to the TE and some screens, and those didn't work.

I doubt that there are too many people who actually hope that Jake will play badly. The difference is that some people realistically acknowledge when he does, while you want to pretend that it's always someone else's fault.
But it's not just "extreme pressure," it's any form of pressure, even imaginary. There are times when Jake sees teams blitzing and throws it up for grabs even when our guys clearly have it picked up. He's much too skittish, and much too irresponsible with the ball.
No amount of pressure should ever cause a quarterback to make the kind of dumbass throws that Jake does regularly. Again, no one is pretending that yesterday was all his fault, but you shouldn't pretend that it was all someone else's fault either.

Agreed with the TE and WR looks, it seemed that many of the routes were short and out to the flats. There were a couple of deep shots, but if I remember correctly, they were 3rd and forever instances.

I'm calling it right now, Biddle is going to make the team and I think the Carter experiment is just about over. It seems that the staff has a reluctance to demote Carter, though. I don't get it. Yes, he's tall and yes, he's fast, but he has questionable hands and not a natural for the WR position. The "raw" label isn't going to cut it for another season.

I am becoming a big fan of Tye.

There are times, sure, but it's not "any pressure". He has had issues regardless of pressure, but to say he folds under any pressure is certainly not correct, and he did well stepping up against the rush last week.

I said "any form of pressure," which is accurate. I did not say or imply that he throws the ball up every single time he feels pressure.

Anybody notice if Kenyatta Mandata policed the Offensive line any on Friday night?
