    Maybe if Spurrier hadn't recruited 31 players and only had 25 spots open he wouldn't have the problem.

    More players made grades and didn't get into trouble than he thought they would. He thought he would have more attrition than he did, so he recruited more players than slots thinking some kids on the team would go to Hargrave for prep school, some kids on the actual team would leave or quit (happens every year) but there were still not enough spots so he kicked the weakest players in his recruiting class out.

    Sounds like the ole ball coach is recruiting smarter players than he thought.
