yes, fucking seriously. Beuerlein wasn't a statue?
I think you're confusing skill and mobility for some reason that only dogs can hear.

never had a player that meant anything to the team retire before, and be here the whole time.

Love him or not, Mike Minters don't come along every day, and it'd be great to have a few more of them on the team.

damn...relax. Weinke was more statue like than Beuerlein, yet Steve was far more productive. Beuerlein was not going to win any footraces (with the exception of, as he described it, the best QB draw in Panther history v. Green Bay).

I was poking fun at Weinke's cement feet, but yes, Steve B. was only a little faster than me. And I am slllllllllllllooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww.

Minter was not nearly Dick Vermeil. I was more surprised that Big Cat was losing it at the podium. That told me the statue is moving forward (being done).

as awesome as that was, I'm glad no one caught on. I think he was faster on the fall forward than getting through the pocket.

    you go to the presser?

yeah...just got back in. Talked to Minter one-on-one after it all wrapped up. Gonna miss that little guy.

    Minter made:
    his wife cry
    Rucker cry
    Big Cat cry
    Fox cry

Surreal experience. I remember his practice where he blew up Rockey Ismail. I was 10 feet from the hit, shooting practice. This was also the first retirement presser I've ever covered. Beuerlein's didn't really count, since he signed a 1 day contract to retire a Panther....very emotional.

that hit was devastating. Talk about a breaker. Too bad Ismail wasn't worth a damn for a year and a half after.

Yeah, never had a player go the distance (and also matter, since Mangum's biggest legacy is not being Walls). I bet Kasay's retirement is going to be hard.
