I would love to see them bring in a veteran guy to compete. If Salley or Wilson can beat him out then fine but at least you have a fall back option.

I'm just saying the team has doctors and Hurney knew the condition of Mikes knees. Based upon the fact he has been here for 10 years and know his healing history I would think they would have had someone else here (other than our recent trade) ready to go earlier if they thought he had a chance at retiring. We are still thin at safety

I am still biting my tongue about letting Marlin McRee walk last season...sure would be nice to have someone like that laying around.

But, it's always easy to be critical after the fact. I do appreciate Minter spending his entire career with us.

so, 3 out of the last 4 camps and we've had someone retire on us. At least this time it wasn't a free agent we picked up.

enough of the griping. Minter knows he can't go, and he's done. Would you rather he limp around back there?

    Who is out there?

I gotta give Minter props for doing it this early. Way, way better than waiting till after the last preseason game and deciding he can't go. He may have known he may not be able to do it but his heart was still in it for one last round; got to camp and realized his body said hell no.

Thanks for the 10 years Mike.

Should be some useable talent showing up as the league wide cuts get rolling.

I understand we had some money but is it enough to dangle in front of a player we could use when rosters start getting trimmed in a couple of weeks. Any idea who may become available at a position of need?
