You are not setting the bar very high if Minter gets a statue. He was a good player but not great. He never made the probowl although he probably deserved it once or twice. There should be some lesser honor for former players when they retire. Maybe a plaque or something but a statue is a bit too much.

Leaning towards yes. He's been as good a player for the franchise as Mills was while here. He's also been just as active, if not more so in the community than Mills was. Based on the fact that he never reached "legend" status as a player, it hurts his case, but he's got the other criteria.

Not good enough to earn that distinction, but you could certainly put some of his jerseys up in the concourse around the stadium.

I don't think that it is based entirely on what's done on the field, so I would go with yes.

If you think about it, you could eventually put 20+ players in the Ring of Honor. You can only choose < 5 for statues unless you want them all over the damn place.

If you do it for a guy like Minter then you have to do it for every guy that has a decent career and retires with you. You gonna give one to Jordan Gross if he plays out his career here? How about Travelle Wharton?

I think you save that for guys like Smith and Peppers (assuming they retire here).

I forgot about the ring. Change me to a no vote, and put him on the ring.
