you don't think the OC would inevitably notice an issue like that and correct it or be accountable?

I don't think it was a consistent issue regardless, but no, I don't think the OC should be responsible for a QB's mental mistakes. When a receiver drops a pass do you automatically blame Williamson? Or when Salley blows a coverage, do you look at Trgovac? I think there's a tendency among some Panthers fans to blame Henning for everything, in much the same way that some people blame Bush for anything that happens in the world. I don't find any validity in it.

I don't think Trgovac would say, "Salley, don't blow your coverage." I do think Henning would, theoretically, say "Jake, you snap on one too fucking much." In the end, right or wrong, Trgovac and Henning would be responsible for everything that happens on the field, and Henning should say something if that were the case.

One's a conscious choice, though. I'm not looking to blame one or the other - if it were a problem I would blame both, unless there was something that specifically said "Henning told us to always snap on one because ____". But if it's a matter of placing blame on the quarterback, there are two people above him to make him accountable for his decisions.

But when something like that happens, your inclination isn't to blame Trgovac the way it was to blame Henning. In fact, you'd actively defend Trgovac from the kind of unwarranted criticism that you would then level at Henning. I'm just pointing out the inconsistency there.

no. The decision isn't there to blow coverage. If Henning knows Jake is showing that type of tell, it's on him, too. As well, you're the only one putting the blame on Jake, the players are pointing it at the OC. I'm not, I'm just saying he's accountable as well. If Jake's making the conscious decision to go on one every time, then it's on him, and Henning has to be accountable for that decision as well. It's not like the OC isn't paying attention the last four years.
