Bridges Arrested

You're allowed to point a gun at anyone that you feel is threatening your life, and for what its worth I'm not saying he's innocent, but even if guilty its a misdemeanor and I believe his first offense. That's not enough to knock him off the roster. If Steve Smith can beat a TEAMMATE bad enough he has to put him in the hospital multiple days, then this will be looked at as a first "strike" against Bridges rather than the last straw.

Um... plenty of people carry guns for protection legally. It may have had nothing to do with the girl as to why he had it with him. I've got to think it would make sense for a millionaire to have a weapon on him for protection.

Sure, but it takes a bigger offense than a misdemeanor to get suspended. Look at the number of arrest that have happened in which the player HASN'T got suspended. While ProFootballTalk is frequently wrong they do a damn good job of reporting what players got arrested, and at this point the only known major suspensions are Pacman Jones, Chris Henry, Tank Johnson, and now Vick. Minor offenses aren't appreciated and multiples will cause you to get suspended or cut, but this being his first and a case of he said she said, Bridges is pretty much safe.

 

Sure. Maybe that's the case, but based on the facts right now, it isn't.

I'm skeptical for two reasons. First, why would you even come close to someone you felt was threatening you? If he knew this woman was dangerous, why go to the club? Maybe he didn't know this woman and she threatened him verbally. That's no justification to pull a gun on her. Now, there is certainly the possibility that she had a weapon, too, but there's no evidence to support that, and my common sense is telling me that's not the case.

Secondly, it's Jeremy fucking Bridges. If you're going to target someone, why would you settle for him? I bet if you showed his picture on the jumbotron at a Panthers game, at least half the stadium would have no idea who he is. I'm sure he could stay relatively anonymous, if he wanted to, so that tells me he brought this on himself.



and yes, this woman could be completely full of shit. I'm hoping she is.

I wonder if they will decide that "area" includes the parking lot (assuming of course that a gun was in fact pointed)?

 

An article I just read says he went there frequently and the management said he'd never been a problem and was always humble.
