Something's odd about this story, specifically the girl going immediately to the magistrate's office to take out a warrant.

Having your name mentioned in the same sentence with the words "gun" and "gentlemen's club" is pretty damning. I'll admit the story is a little vague right now, but this is obviously not something anyone needed.

FWIW I haven't seen any charges that the gun he was carrying was illegal. Which means he had a permit for it. It may have been a deal of the stripper harassing him and he pulled it because he felt threatened. I'm not fully defending his actions, because he shouldn't have been at a strip club that late this close to camp, but it could make sense.

Let's not forget that being at a strip club is not against the law or NFL policy. The gun aspect is the only thing that has any weight to it.

he shouldn't have put himself in a bad position by being there to begin with...

agree with meat, which was also my first though...he's gone, enter Walker

and I think they need to do this today, send a clear message

the Falcons beating around the bush about all this shit with Vick, which is way worse, and the league had to step in...the Panthers need to move on this ASAP...

For what? Lets say you had a concealed handgun WITH PERMIT, and some came up and threatened you. You wouldn't for a second consider pulling the gun as a form of defense? Like I said the guy may be defending himself. No he shouldn't be there, but being at a strip club isn't a crime. Nor is defending yourself with a licensed gun if you legitimately feel threatened. This is a MINOR offense. Should this be strike one against him? Yes, but this isn't grounds to cut him lose.

If the team sets a precendent of cutting everyone who is accused of something immediately we might have a hard time fielding a team.

Want to beat the Panthers, call in some bs sexual accusation against Smith, Peppers, Delhomme. Give it some time, knee jerking isn't the way to do it.

Being at a club is fine. Being at a club with a gun is against NFL conduct policy. Remember, the NFL has the policy to protect it's image, and it's not necessarly congruent with the law. You don't have to be charged with anything to get suspended.

And beyond that, a man of his size doesn't need to protect himself from a woman w/ a firearm.
