Vick Indicted!

ESPN News is reporting some newspaper in Georgia saying Vick would not be indited after all.

 

On one of the other message boards I frequent (non sports) there are numerous folks campaigning AGGRESSIVELY against Vick. They've looked up political links, all the related NFL & Falcon links and are posting all over the internet over and over to write/e-mail/call all these people demanding justice & Vick's suspension.

 

Would not be indicted by the State of Virginia...at least not at this time.

 

NFL has released this info in a statement as well. Vick won't lose money, and the league has told Atlanta to not discipline him...basically the league will do it when the time comes.

Later Vick. You're done.

 

So it's not a voluntary leave of absence as was first thought.

Surreal.

 

A smart state prosecuter will let the first trail go, do his work for them, and come back after him later.

His career as an endorser is, by all accounts, finished. Who would want his face attached to their product now?

As to his football career, if he's found guilty, my guess is he's banned for life regardless of sentence.

If he makes a deal (which based on what I've heard seems highly unlikely) then he'll get some kind of suspension. A year seems logical, so then by the time he was able to suit up again he'd have been out of football for two years (and he's not exactly a rookie).

If he's ultimately found not guilty, the Falcons might cut ties with him anyway, and I couldn't blame them given what he's put them through. Somebody else might pick him up, but whoever that might be would likely face negative reaction from a lot of fans.

Bottom line: Anything's possible, but I'll be shocked if he ever plays pro football again. If he does, I'll be even more shocked if it's with the Falcons.
