    Arroyo is right handed. he has absolutely sucked this year. Think Saltalamacchia for Aaron Harang.

    Willie Harris went off last night. That was an amazing performance.

    Didn't realize till they showed it last night, the Braves have not lost a series to any of the top teams in the NL. Now beat who you're supposed to!!!!!

    The Braves refuse to play well for long periods. They will lose tonight. They just like to get close to the Mets before choking away another series. It's like they are teasing their entire fanbase.

    Didn't get to see the game but Harris going 6-6 was amazing. Looks like the Braves have a keeper in him. Escobar looks pretty good too. They've done a great job rebuilding through the farm system. Which is a good thing since the Braves aren't a player in free agency any more.

    Lots of talk about the Braves going after Mark Teixeira. He would solve the first base problem for sure. I would rather see a starting pitcher added before the trade deadline but getting a good one without way overpaying is slim.

    It looks like the deal is done and Teixeira is headed to Atlanta. He can hit and drive in runs. I hate to lose Saltalamachia but this deal will help the Braves and provide another good bat if they don't re-sign Andru Jones for next year.

    Late news also breaking that Atlanta may be getting Octavio Dotel, if true this is a good sign that Liberty Media may be willing to loosen their wallet a bit more than AOL ever did.

    I don't know if that's necessarily true. Texas is reportedly picking up a fair amount of Teixeira's '07 salary. He's arbitration eligible in '08, and I imagine that he'll basically take up whatever space they clear by letting Andruw walk. Still, it's a great trade for the Braves.

    The only major concern here is that it seems pretty clear that the organization is taking its best shots for this year and next year at the cost of the team's future. With Bobby, Schuerholz, Chipper, Smoltz, and potentially others all unlikely to be around past '08, the Braves could get really bad in a big hurry after that. They're burned the farm system out through trades and needing to bring guys up, so there's little hope for the next generation.
