RJ's not "junk" but he has benefited from playing with Kidd. Wallace also put up better numbers on the whole than RJ did.

He's also more expensive and older than Wallace.

Last year, yes, but over the last three seasons Jefferson's numbers are significantly better, including levels that Wallace has never reached.
Only two years older. The contract is why I would have turned the deal down, but without salary considerations, most fans and most teams would take Richard Jefferson over Gerald Wallace. I just didn't get why people were talking about Jefferson like Wallace was clearly better.

No. They took Kirk Haston with their draft pick in 01, but Jefferson was already gone by then.

He's always kind of been a "puts up good stats but isn't that great"

    Kind of like Rashard Lewis.

He's definitely not junk, like I said it would have been a hell of a backup plan to keep from losing Wallace completely. I just think that Wallace is a much better fit with Jason Richardson than RJ is. Also, I'm not a fan of RJ personally, so my bias affects me there. He looks like a retarded sleestack. But yeah, the man can ball.

The difference as has already been stated, RJ played with Jason Kidd, while Wallace has had to be the man on his own. Also, I believe Wallace is still getting better, while RJ has peaked imo.

I don't think so. To my knowledge, Rashard Lewis never got a Team USA invite, much less a spot on the team. Jefferson not only scores, but rebounds and gets assists. He's a very good all-around player. But ultimately I agree with you that the contract is prohibitive, and I tend to agree with Tet that Wallace looks like a better fit because of his defense. The one caveat is that a guy who can also make jump shots might be a better complement to Richardson than someone who relies on driving to the basket and second chances.

"like Lewis" in the way that he puts up good numbers but is never going to be a great player. Jermaine O'Neal, Stephan Marbury, that ilk.

Then you might as well put Gerald Wallace and Jason Richardson in that group, because right now Richard Jefferson is the best thought of in the names that you mentioned. As noted, he did make Team USA, albeit in a year when most stars turned them down, but I'm not aware that any of these other names were even invited (aside from O'Neal). I agree with you that these guys we're talking about aren't and probably won't ever be superstars, but I think comparing Jefferson to Lewis is misguided. Jefferson is a good, all-around player, while Lewis is nothing but a shooter.

Keep Wallace. He was nothing and about to go Europe before he came to Charlotte. He's a badass and probably the face of the franchise. you can't trade a guy like that
