I'm going to buy a gaming console, specifically for Madden and NCAA football - although I'm sure I'll pick up other games as well.

Which one should I get? (I have a 57" 1080p TV, if that makes any difference).

Get a ColecoVision or a Commodore.

Maybe an Atari 800 - don't forget the floppy drive.

It supposedly will run a little better on the XBOX 360.

I'd go with the PS3 at $499 if you don't have an HD player. I like my 360, but why not spend the extra hundred to get something that will play movies in HD?

Oh and FWIW. This is the last year EA will be making titles for the XBOX and the PS2.

Well if you get one go get it at Circuit City. Free extra controller in store with the purchase of a PS3, and you get 5 free BluRay movies by mail.

both NCAA and Madden run at 60 fps on the 360. They are shit at 30 fps, which is what the ps3 will have, and is what they were running at last year on the 360.

Supposedly NCAA will only be at 30 fps (it doesn't look bad anyway) on the PS3, but Madden will be at 60. And I think that 5 movie Blu-ray offer is from Sony, so you can get that anywhere. I don't know about the controller, though.

the thing with 30 fps is that it stutters alot. i have ncaa 07 for the 360, and it stalls after every play, whenever it pans the stadium, or when the teams break from the huddle. It looks like shit on a supposedly next gen console.

You might just have a bad copy. I've rented NCAA 07 and I own Madden '07 for the 360, and neither display any of the stuttering you're talking about.
