Stephen F has no idea that the Bobcats did not have a true SG last year

Prying Richardson loose from the Warriors wasn’t easy. Three days ago, a highly placed Bobcats source said Warriors basketball operations chief Chris Mullin showed no willingness to give up Richardson

He probably wouldn't have dealt him if Yi or Wright weren't available. In any case, I like what I'm reading about the second round guy too. Sounds like a major project, but one with a ton of upside. Honestly his skills read a lot like Wright's.

hey gang...finally getting a chance to log on...

    Dukey-thanks for watching our coverage.

The Bobcats seem very certain they will have Wallace next year. MJ saying (paraphrasing) "I want Gerald here. he knows that. We will assign a value to him, and hopefully, when we speak to his agent, we are on the same page, but I want him here, and he knows this."

I was a little stunned that MJ kept referring the Bobcats WITH Wallace for next season so often--seems to me the Bobcats are strongly considering exercising their "Larry Bird" right on Wallace to keep him with the Cats.

For the record, before the deal with GS was announced, I graded (on air) the Bobcats draft as a C to C+, buit that grade would go up if they made a deal to bring in a player already in the league. My feeling is now, with Richardson and Davidson in the fold, along with Dudley--the Bobcats are a solid B to B+, maybe even an A-.

I never saw Wright as an immediate helper, but was likely the BPA at 8, but the thing is, the Cats said they were selecting FOR GS aat 8--this deal was in the hopper, and yet no one really knew officially until the tail end of round 1, and ESPN reported it early in round 2.

Wright will be a good to above average pro, but I don't see him as an superstar. I don't think he contributes consistently until year 3, unless he bulks up quickly, but that's just my opinion. He has the game, not the frame. Yet.
