Either way, no thanks. Not much tread left on his tires

Forgot about Matt Carroll. I'd love to see him back as well.

Primoz has quickly become the weakest link. It's too bad he seems to have regressed in his time here. Hopefully he can bounce back next year.

Have to re-sign Wallace for sure, but assuming they do, it's a good trade. Richardson is a little pricey at $11 million a year through the 2010-11 season, but that's not terrible.

    It's official.

Here is the bio on the Davidson guy.

Chad Ford's Analysis: He's an athletic big man who thinks he's a 2 guard. So Nellie is probably gonna love him.

Draft Projection: Second round to undrafted

    Notes:
Getting bigger will likely help Davidson's draft stock.
    (Brad Wilder/WireImage.com)

Declared for the 2005 NBA draft, but withdrew after he couldn't obtain
a first-round promise. Helped his cause in the summer of 2006 by showing up to the Nike All-American camp with an extra 10 pounds of muscle. Has experienced two tragedies in 2006 including the death of his girlfriend and brother in unrelated accidents.

Positives: Davidson has the athletic ability and size to be a role player in the NBA. He's already an excellent shot blocker and rebounder who can fly up and down the floor. Solid defender.

Negatives: Scouts have been waiting for him to develop a better offensive game and to gain some weight. Davidson is too skinny to play in the post at either end at the pro level, and scouts do wonder why he hasn't gained more mass in the past three years at Alabama. His extra 10 pounds of muscle this summer gives hope that he'll eventually fill out. Doesn't have a great basketball IQ.

Summary: Scouts have been watching Davidson ever since he declared for the NBA draft in 2005. While his game has improved, there are still a lot of questions about him. His size and position mean he'll get an extra look or two, but right now he's on the second-round bubble.

10-11 mil for what he does (scoring) seems cheap in NBA terms

Hell yeah, to get him for the 8th pick is a steal for us. Considering our best 2 guard option was Brewer who can't shoot either, J-Rich has already proven he can score in the league. He's a tough defender and hits the boards hard. He's 26/27, great job by the front office so far.

I didn't think the day could end up this well.

edit: And I don't have to look at Brandan's goofy grin anymore. Of course we've just guaranteed he'll be an all-star one day.

Didn't Herrmann have something weird where his family got killed in a car wreck too?
